Summer Schedule!

Register for our Summer Schedule!

While you are waiting…  for the post office to deliver our summer schedules (maybe by Wednesday….) did you know you can enroll online??  You can click HERE to view the schedule on our Yavapai College website.

You can ALSO enroll yourself by clicking HERE and signing in.

If you haven’t gone on before, your user name is probably your email address. You can use “reset my password” to get the system to send you an encoded password.  You will then be able to sign in and reset both your user name and password to anything you’d like. Need help?  Call the office 717-7634.

It is really easy to enroll. The system knows whether or not your membership is current (you would already have received a letter from us if it was time to renew.) Use the yellow “home” button on the left side to navigate back to the beginning each time. Once you are signed in, the OLLI classes will have an “add to cart” button. If you need to renew your membership, select one by clicking “home” then “prescott olli” then “become a member/renew membership” and add it to your cart, then the system will let you select classes to add to your cart. Even if you have a $155 membership, and your classes are FREE, you need to add them to your cart and check out all the way, so your registration request will get into our system.

Prescott OLLI Updates!

Our summer schedules are at the printers – hopefully will be in your hands by May 13th. Our Summer session starts June 10th.

Ballots for the Governing Council election will be mailed out this Monday. Each current member will receive a ballot (so two member households will receive an envelope for each member.) Ballots must be returned by May 31st.

******Save the Date(s)****************

We will be hosting an OLLI Birthday Party celebrating 20 years on Wednesday May 29th, 11 am in the Yavapai College Performing Arts Center. Please rsvp to the office! 717-7634. Also – we’d love to have former members join us – if you are still in touch with any former OLLI members, please invite them to come with you (and let the office know so we can add them to the head count.)

Our annual meeting and potluck will be Tuesday June 4th, 10:30 am in the Yavapai College library community room, 19-147. Please rsvp to the office.

Finally – there will be doing roadwork and paving in front of the college starting May 5th. On May 8th and 9th, and May 19th and 20th, there will be a detour down Washington Street and around the baseball fields to enter the college.

Have a great weekend!

OLLI Updates

As we wrap up Spring 1, we’ve been busy in the office enrolling members for Spring 2. The deadline for drawings is March 20th. And smack in the middle of registration we have spring break. The office will be closed all next week, March 11-15th. There are lots of choices around registration – even if you don’t get around to making your choices until next week. You can certainly mail in your registration. You could also try enrolling on line. It really isn’t hard – the biggest problem members have is getting through the user name and password process. We can help you in the office, and from here on out you could enroll in OLLI at midnight if you’d like!

Bob Kane just let me know today that he and Marge are planning a mini-doldrums event – movie and a dinner – for Friday March 22nd. More information to come!

We are still looking for summer facilitators – OLLI is only as rich as it’s volunteer facilitators! Please consider facilitating – there is LOTs of help available!

And finally, winter weather is predicted again for later this week. The very best way for you to stay informed is to sign up for the Yavapai College alert system. You can sign up with your email address, cell phone, or both. That way, if there are campus closures or other emergencies, you will be sure to be notified.

Here are the steps to take:

  1. Go to the website:
  2. Click “create an account”
  3. Use the invitation code – olli
  4. Fill out the new account form (remember the username and password)
  5. After you submit the form you will need to verify the email or phone (or both) on the e2campus site in order to start receiving messages

Just a heads up – Yavapai College declared a 2 hour delay this morning, which means that classes that start at 8 am were cancelled. Classes starting at 10 am (including OLLI’s) are all happening today. The roads are fine, as is the campus. Some thought that “2 hour delay” meant that everything meets 2 hours later – that ISN’T the case. 10 am classes will still meet at 10, and our 1 pm classes will also meet on time.
