Ride-Share Program

Carpooling

Carpolling is Fun!

The Ride-Share Task Force has been formed and met recently to discuss responsibilities and next steps. It was decided to concentrate on three main areas: rides on a regular basis for individuals no longer able or who choose not to drive; carpool groups to address lack of available parking; emergency “need a ride” situation (car in shop, bad weather, etc.) The members are looking into resources available through other organizations and software that could support the matching process. The Task Force is also looking into insurance and liability questions, an issue several people commented on in the surveys that were handed out in the OLLI classes during the last session. Also discussed were ways to identify those who need rides.

Watch for more information in upcoming OLLI newsletters. If you have ideas or information to share, please contact: Diane McIntyre at 443-8547, dmprojects@aol.com; or Sharon Walsh at 237-9354, sharonaz@cableone.net.
